Diamond Head headline Bloodstock on the Sophie Lancaster stage
Diamond Head ignited their new album world tour of the UK, Europe, USA and Canada with a high octane headline slot at Bloodstock 2016.
The band was on fire through a freight train of a set that offered up some of their new material, as well as the best of the classics and even a track never played live in their 40 year history. Brian Tatler and his muso team were obviously excited to be playing the festival as their last performance there was more than a decade ago. Brian has stated in many interviews that "Bloodstock is the perfect festival for Diamond Head" and it shows. The band was re-energised and the crowd was having the time of their lives singing and sometimes roaring out the legendary songs.
At the end of the show the band extended their humble gratitude for playing the Sophie stage at the festival and having the honour of closing the Friday night. New vocalist and front man Rasmus Bom Andersen saluted the crowd and implored them to share their roars in the memory of Sophie Lancaster. The sound of this metal loving army must have been heard for miles as they roared loud and proud for Sophie.
Diamond Head finished their set list with the iconic “Am I Evil”, and like lighter fluid to a bonfire the question asked to the crowd "Are you Evil" set the atmosphere alight. The band closed off the night with and an energy that could be felt throughout the crowd as they all shouted out the choruses of the mighty metal anthem.
